Swimwear Fabric

Indaia Swim pieces are made from sustainable fabrics. In 2019, we have introduced recycled fabrications to our New Wave, latest range which includes printed fabrics, plain black and all inner linings.

New Wave sustainable collection fabrics:

Our fabrics are sustainably sourced from Italy and Bali.

  • Plain Black Fabric: made from ECONYL®, a 100% regenerated nylon fiber made from consumer waste as fishing nets and nylon waste from landfills and oceans around the world. ECONYL® reduces the global warming impact of nylon by up to 80% compared to material made from non-renewable petroleum oil
  • Printed fabric: Made of 100% recycled polyester LYCRA® XTRA LIFE™ from pre and post consumer materials which is proved to be resistant to chlorine, suntan creams and oils. It is certified Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex; the world’s leader in testing fabrics to regulate harmful substances.
  • Corduroy textured fabric: Nylon fabric sustainably sourced from Bali
  • Lining: Made from recycled polyester yarn made from PET bottles. Proven to be quick drying.

Manufacturing

We are proud to have moved our production to Australia in 2019. Our latest collection, New Wave has been ethically manufactured, using family-run local printer, cutter and seamstress. It has allowed a closer control on the production process and most importantly, support local businesses like ours.

Packaging

Eliminating plastic from our supply chain has been paramount on our efforts to sustainability.

Since January 2020 we have introduced postage and garment bag made from 100% biodegradable and compostable materials.

Designed for minimal impact, our biodegradable and compostable postage bags are made from renewable plant-based material. We encourage you to reuse this packaging for your next shipment. The comPOST Packs from are certified AS 5810-2010 for Home Composting, meaning they will be completely degraded by microorganisms in the natural world under compost conditions. Ultimately this generates carbon dioxide and water and does not pollute the environment.

Online orders are wrapped in biodegradable packaging which means so all packaging materials can be discarded with no long term impact. Our poly bags are made of bio-cassava can either go in your home compost or Council compost bin. If they end up in landfill, they will still biodegrade.

Our swing tags are made from recycled paper and are recyclable.

This is a big steps to us as a small business and commit to continue looking for new ways to minimise our impact on the environment.
